
What is Mental Health Skill Building?
Mental Health Skill Building (MHSB) are time limited training and support that assist consumers with achieving and maintaining community stability through teaching and reinforcement of independent living skills, identifying and using other resources in community , assistance with medication management , and monitoring of physical health and nutrition.
MHSB Services may include:

Teaching housekeeping and organization skills

Providing budgeting assistance

Educating persons about good hygiene

Assisting with grocery shopping and meal planning

Finding ways to manage stress

Teaching medication management

Teaching laundry skills
Who are eligible for MHSB?

Individuals of 18 years of age and up.

Individuals having difficulty in establishing or maintaining normal interpersonal relationships to such a degree that they are at risk of hospitalization, homelessness, or isolation from social support

Individuals exhibiting such inappropriate behavior that repeated interventions by the mental health is deemed necessary

Individuals exhibiting difficulty in cognitive ability such that they are unable to recognize personal danger or inappropriate social behavior

Individuals requiring help in basic living skills
